Elephanta Caves

Elephanta Caves is the one of the heritage of India.It is located on Island  hill 10 km from gateway of India at Mumbai.This cave is named after a prodigious elephant found in this Island.The elephanta cave, the splendid  dwelling of lord Shiva and paradigm of Hindu  culture, consists of  seven cave.Here is the great example of Indian rock-cut architecture, and filled with dainty stone sculptures of Hindu Gods and Goddesses from date back to 600 AD.
